Their creative innovations and academic dedication continually propel the excellence of the MIT experience.   [see:  Class 1960 EFIE

On 5/21/2015 EFIE Fellows Profs Staffilani and Jerison report their progress on their project: Part 1 of our Calculus online course will go live as a MOOC on the MITx platform on June 2. There are 15,000 already registered.  18.01x is the online version of 18.01. This is going to be released in 3 parts. We are done with the first part and are continuing with Part 2 and Part 3 next year.  We are also learning a lot about best ways to deliver the content and we believe we will go faster as we progress.

See how the Class of 1960 Endowment Fund for Innovation in Education (EFIE), established in 1985, aligns with Recommendation 1 of the Institute-wide Task Force on the Future of MIT Education.

Here you will find information about the class, its philanthropy, and leadership, plus an archive of Class Notes and helpful links to more information about reunions or annual giving.

Below is a photograph of 1960 alumni preparing to march in the MIT Commencement Procession at our 50th reunion in 2010. This was the largest gathering our class since our own Commencement in 1960!

Having passed this 50th anniversary milestone, all our classmates are now members of the MIT Cardinal and Gray Society, which has its own set of events during Tech Reunions each year.
Replacement "Brass Rats"

Several classmates have asked about replacement class rings here is the info supplied by the manufacturer: L.G. Balfour Company
You will need to contact the Balfour representative who tends to MIT class rings her name is Peg Mead and you may email her at she will be happy to assist you farther.
Manufacturing methods changed in the early 70’s from die-struck to lost wax casting.  As a result, Balfour no longer has the dies to produce rings from before 1976.
However, many alumni use the 1976 ring which is very close to their original ring.  They change the date from 76 to whatever year you choose.  Note that there will still be a subtle 76 in the sticks under the beaver.
The ring is available in Jumbo, Large, Small and Tiny sizes.  Prices are mit_ring_pricing_for_all_years_out_of_contract.pdf
There is a shipping and handling charge of $14.95 and sales tax for the location the ring is shipped.
